SMCYVR is the Vancouver chapter of the international Social Media Club. We were established to provide a forum to meet and discuss the potential of social media—both in and beyond the business world.

We believe in social media’s power to connect and converse with each other, as well as out friends, families, clients and customers. As a group, we explore social learning techniques, best practices, new tools, resources and ideas that empower Vancouverites to be leaders in the social revolution.

Our purpose is to stimulate conversations exploring the technologies that are transforming the way we connect, communicate, collaborate and relate to each other.

Our philosophy is one of learning, sharing, exploring and engaging together—both online and off. We want to break out of the social media echo chamber of self-reinforcing thoughts and promote a diversity of opinion and perspectives.
